This year we’ll be hosting a two-phase chess tournament:
Phase 1: Open to all attendees, this virtual club tournament will take place at https://www.chess.com/club/ethereans. The top 10 virtual finishers plus 6 special guests will proceed to phase 2 in-person. . Virtual registration details below.
Phase 2: Held in person at the Art Hotel lounge, 16 players will face off in a physical chess duel to the death (but pls don’t kill Vitalik, we need him alive and well). Boards and clocks will be provided by ETHDenver.

VIRTUAL (QUALIFIER) TOURNAMENT: Due to how many registrants we have for ETHDenver, we’re opening up this tournament to all virtual and in-person attendees to play together for two hours.

1. Please fill out this form before midnight on Monday Feb 14.
2. Please join the Ethereans Club on chess.com to be able to participate.
3. The tournament room will open at 4pm on Tuesday Feb 15.
4. Tournament Format:
   1. Chess.com managed 12-round Swiss tournament of 5-minute games
   2. The Tournament will last 2h, but players don’t need to play the whole time
   3. The top 10 in-person registered ETHDenver attendees will have the opportunity to play in the physical tournament
   4. The top 10 ETHDenver-registered participants will win 100 free Nifty Chess mints
   5. All ETHDenver-registered participants will win 10 free Nifty Chess mints
   6. All ETHDenver-registered attendees will win a participation POAP
